The main advantage of bulk migration is not having to save and re-upload every file by hand. You prepare the source list once, choose the destination and then review the files that completed or need attention.
The larger the library becomes, the more useful this is. A batch of ten files is manageable manually. A catalogue with thousands of product images is a different job.

Two files can have different names and still contain exactly the same bytes. During a migration, content-based hashing can help identify that type of duplicate instead of relying only on filenames.
Where Media2URL applies SHA-256 duplicate checking, matching hashes can recognise identical file data before creating redundant copies. A resized image produces a different hash because the binary bytes are different.
Migration is a good time to decide whether the existing organisation still makes sense. Copying years of inconsistent folders into a new workspace may only move the same problem somewhere else.
